The Commercial Flooring Sales Representative Role in Brief:
As a Commercial Flooring Sales representative, your primary objective is to build lasting relationships with new and existing commercial clients to assist, educate and sell all types of commercial flooring materials through your positive approach, diligence, persistence, thoroughness, and accuracy. Spartan’s key clients include architecture and design firms, general contractors, healthcare facilities, and education systems. We are looking for a fast-paced, high-energy, competitive-minded professional to continue our growth in the New York Metro Area.
As a salaried commercial flooring sales representative, you will work hand in hand with our Spartan’s team. The new team member will be responsible for day-to-day interactions with prospective clients with a cross-market focus from healthcare and education to corporate and multi-family. As a part of the team, the Sales Rep will play a significant role in the firm’s business development efforts, from establishing initial contact with clients and potential clients to facilitating follow-up activities that lead to new business opportunities and follow-through with clients to ensure customer satisfaction that is the foundation for our relationship.
Responsibilities Include:
- Build and manage relationships with potential customers and clients
- Research and evaluate new business opportunities within the market
- Identify and target prospective clients through strategic research, planning, and execution
- Influence the criteria that A&D firms use for the selection of products to be specified
- Communicate with prospective clients using creative outreach methods via email, phone, and client visits
- Efficient territory management, leading to client relationships and loyalty for the achievement of sales goals
- Meet and exceed sales goals annually
- Manage post-sales meeting follow up
- Maintain an internal database to track client outreach
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum three years of commercial sales experience ( Salary + performance incentives)
- Solid knowledge of all commercial flooring products
- Detail oriented
- Time management a priority
- Energetic
- Effective communication skills — both verbal and written
- Team player — willing to ask questions and share knowledge
- Relational individual who values long-term business relationships
- Consistently completes tasks promptly
- Proficient computer skills — Outlook, Excel, and industry-specific software(s)
- Proficient in basic math
- Goal-orientated individual who monitors personal performance
- Capable of multitasking
- Able to pass a company background check
