As our summer internship comes to a close, we wanted to share a closer look at why we value interns and their impact on our team!

The Purpose of Internships

By working with them closely, Spartan aims to equip them with the skills and knowledge that can help shape their careers and the future of Spartan. Our interns bring new ideas and viewpoints that challenge our status quo and lead with innovation within this organization. Through diverse backgrounds and academic experiences, our interns offer solutions and improvements to existing processes, helping Spartan stay ahead and be the best version of the company!

As our interns manage and assist with various projects and tasks, they enhance the productivity and efficiency of our team. They provide valuable support when focusing on strategic goals and create clear paths through our operations. Meet Our 2024 Summer Interns

1. Lily Macatee

· School: Gettysburg College

· Major: Business Organizational Management with a minor in Sociology.

· Graduation Year: 2025.

· Title: Sales Summer Intern

· Role: Lily has closely observed a highly successful group of sales representatives, attending numerous sales calls and customer meetings. This has given her a thorough understanding of what holding a sales position at Spartan entails, including the daily responsibilities and tasks involved.

· Fun Fact: Lily plays as a defender in lacrosse!

2. May Berger

· School: Gettysburg College

· Major: Business, Organizations, and Management major with a Data Science minor

· Title: Purchasing and Inventory Summer Intern

· Role: May is gaining valuable experience in placing and receiving orders and gaining insight into the warehouses and materials required by Spartan. This role gives her a comprehensive understanding of the purchasing and inventory processes essential for efficient operations.

· Fun fact: Outside Spartan, May is a dog/cat sitter!

3. Austin Shorts

· School: Penn State University.

· Major: Accounting

· Graduation Year: December 2026

· Title: Accounting Summer Intern

· Role: Austin is learning to handle daily supplier invoices, monthly supplier statements, and Spartan’s daily transaction reports. He is also learning how to effectively communicate with suppliers regarding discrepancies in invoices and statements while learning how to resolve these discrepancies.

· Fun Fact: Austin is a middle child, and his parents and older brother attended Penn State before him!

4. Tyler Mann

· School: Penn State

· Major: Agricultural Business

· Graduation Year:

· Title: Claims Manager/ Sales Summer Intern

· Role: This summer, Tyler gained hands-on experience in data analytics, sales processes, and claims management. His role involves analyzing data, supporting sales efforts, and managing claims, subsequently giving him a well-rounded perspective on these key areas.

· Fun Fact: Tyler grew up in the old Forest Hill HQ!

5. Nick Domzalski

· School: McDaniel College

· Major: Marketing

· Graduation Year: 2025

· Title: Customer Service/Sales Summer Intern

· Role: Nick is immersing himself in the daily responsibilities of a sales representative, gaining firsthand experience in their routine tasks. Meanwhile, he is expanding his knowledge about Spartan’s product lineup, learning more about the features and benefits of each offering.

· Fun Fact: Nick is a big Philadelphia sports fan!

6. Jake Arcilesi

· School: McDaniel College

· Major: Business Administration (Finance focus),

· Graduation Year: 2025

· Title: Quality Assurance Team Member

· Role: Jake is furthering his knowledge of the steps and procedures required to ensure all orders are accurately placed and efficiently forwarded for processing.

· Fun Fact: Jake plays lacrosse at McDaniel College!

7. Gracyn Meisz

· School: West Virginia University.

· Major: Communications major with a minor in marketing & professional sales.

· Graduation Year: 2025.

· Title: Marketing & HR intern.

· Role: In marketing, she has broadened her understanding of marketing strategies and social media management. Additionally, Gracyn has gained experience in HR by learning about and assisting with recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations.

· Fun Fact: Gracyn has been skydiving!

8. Ethan Talley

· School: University of Delaware

· Major: Operations Management

· Graduation Year: 2025

· Title: Supplier Relations summer intern

· Role: Ethan is immersing himself in the dynamics of supplier relationships, focusing on learning about and analyzing various aspects of these interactions to better understand and enhance his connections with suppliers.

· Fun Fact: Ethan enjoys playing basketball!

9. Brandon Holy

· School: York College of Pennsylvania

· Major: Finance

· Graduation Year: 2025

· Title: Quoting summer intern

· Role: Brandon is gaining experience in quoting commercial flooring while working closely with his team to understand the complexities and nuances of the quoting process.

· Fun Fact: Brandon enjoys playing soccer!

10. Wren Hoerr

· School: Bel Air High School

· Graduation Year: 2025

· Title: Accounting Intern

· Role: This summer, Wren is concentrating on managing various tasks and using her multitasking skills to handle a diverse range of responsibilities efficiently.

· Fun Fact: Wren’s favorite color is pink!

11. Brayden Stagnoli

· School: SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry

· Major: Environment Resource Engineering

· Graduation Year: 2027

· Title: Assistant Admin Intern

· Role: As an Assistant Admin intern, Brayden collaborates with his team to manage and operate databases, ensuring they run smoothly and efficiently.

· Fun Fact: Brayden is a pro at sailing boats and has his own!

12. Evan Galant

· School: Penn State

· Major: Agricultural Business

· Graduation Year: 2025

· Title: Quoting Intern

· Role: This summer, Evan is working as a team member of the quotes team, focusing on learning the ins & outs of the quoting process and finding effective shortcuts to generate quotes more quickly and efficiently.

· Fun Fact: Evan participated in THON at Penn State!
