When Carmelo Piazza began his career as “Carmelo the Science Fellow,” his main goal was to help every child’s natural curiosity turn into a love for science. One look at his hands-on teaching style, and it’s obvious why his school, the Brooklyn Preschool of Science, has done well enough to need another location. Piazza opened his second preschool in Park Slope this past Fall, featuring bright walls and colorful lights and of course, a NASA spacesuit. Baxt Ingui Architects chose ECOsurfaces rubber flooring throughout, a perfect foundation for messy experiments and mad-scientist preschoolers.
